From the time we are born, ducks are part of our lives. These wonderful birds begin their lives full-speed-ahead and within hours of hatching, precious little ducklings are able to walk, swim and feed themselves. It has been proven in studies that communication with the mother duck actually begins before a duckling sheds it's shell.

Smaller and more timid than the average duck, Wigeon markings are unmistakable. Their signature pale grey bill and sweet airy whistles are purely precious.

Did you know in the early 1900s Wood Ducks were on their way to extinction until the creation of a nest box program to aid in their recovery. Thanks to this program, today we have the opportunity to enjoy these adorable, entertaining, beautiful birds.
